Griffith Observatory Panoramas

Got carried away using the panorama function on my phone at Griffith Observatory. Took some of the photos into Photoshop and manipulated the photomerge option as best I could. Then I just had fun drawing on top of it. There is one sketch in there, so technically I can put this here on my art blog :P Not my typical style of art, but I thought this was an interesting experiment in perspective. I particularly like how you see the same set of stairs from two different angles.

I also like how the image below came out, this one happened just using panorama on my phone :)

Forgot to post this back during Halloween when I did an art challenge for my friends' 13 Days 13 Shorts collaboration. The theme for this particular entry was wendigo. I tried to go for what I thought a more female wendigo might look like. Enjoy!

Steve BULKRON

Artist collaboration with Scott Kimball, who had casually done a sketch of this awesome robo design. I fleshed out the sketch and decided to make a digital painting of it. Just in time for the Pixeldrip robot show we're doing at The Hive Gallery this coming month.

Character Sketches for "Nomadic"

Some sketches for the main character in my story, tentatively titled "Nomadic." Still fleshing out the layouts when I have the time and I feel like it's finally getting there. Been very enamored by the looseness of Miyazaki's character sketches recently, so I'm trying to keep that in mind for stuff like this (not just in the penciling, but the coloring as well).

Gregor (Colored)

Went back and added color to this. His name is Gregor and he's a fairly important character in my current story. I'll post some drawings of ancillary characters from his species a little later on.

         I feel like I'm finally trying to see this idea through to completion with these paintings and animations. Once I find a good stretch of time, I'll be able to post the stuff from my comic. This was originally a small drawing, but it felt like it deserved more attention as a painting. The original sketch had a nice charm to it, so I tried to keep the feeling of it intact in the final product.
