Mummy Sketches

Went to the mummy exhibit at the California Science Center last week. Feels a little weird sketching corpses of people long since past, but one doesn't get the opportunity often as an artist.

Dreams of Silly Teeth

This brief animated short is based on the archetypal dream of having one's teeth fall out, although I think I took it in a bit of an odd direction.

Fotography Girl Poster

A nifty poster I did for a friend, Steven Ray Morris' film The Premiere.
Fotography Girl is actually a film within the film, so....yeah.
You see this poster in the film and not necessarily for the film, if that makes sense.

Fairly happy with how this turned out actually.
The photos in the BG were taken by Steven I believe.

I relish the idea of being able to say I am done with this after 5 months of work.

Tally Hall Surrealist Tribute Thingy

Tally Hall has quickly become one of my favorite bands ever. Getting to see them live in LA a short while ago only served to further cement that opinion. This drawing started out as just a sketch, but quickly turned into something that warranted more effort. Most of the imagery is inspired from various songs or simply what goes through my head while listening to them. See if you can identify all the references, I tried to cram a few in there. The sign with the band name is taken directly from the MMMM album cover, so I can't really take credit for designing it.

The only way that I can think of to adequately show gratitude for any piece of art is to produce my own art. I don't know if any of the band members will actually end up seeing this, but if they do, then I would like it if they thought of this as my form of thanks for producing such wonderful music. Thanks for signing my album at the concert guys, I wish I had had the time to talk to each of you. Oh, and a big thanks to Andrew for suggesting the band "fun." Aim and Ignite is easily one of the best albums I've heard in years.

Really looking forward to all of your efforts on the next album, keep up the amazing work.

New Project!

Working on a project that I am actually getting paid for, woot! These are a few examples of what it will be like, basically very children's book type drawings. The awesome thing is that this person actually likes my style, so I don't have to change it up too much. I might put up a little more from this in the future. I'm likely not going to have too much other stuff to put up, because of how much work this is gonna take.

"Red Star" Mario from Super Mario Galaxy (Copyright Nintendo). The photo doesn't quite do justice to it, but oh well... Felt like posting a few more images to catch up with my more recent work. Been working on a lot of stuff. I actually have an illustration job right now that will probably consume my life for the next month, so you're gonna see some work for that up here some time in the near future. Until then, I hope this is cool enough.
